Brooke Scherer

CREATOR AND HOST

Brooke Scherer is creator and host of the Trauma Uncensored Podcast, a platform dedicated to honest, unfiltered conversations about trauma, grief, mental health, and the lifelong journey of healing. She is also mother to Logan, Mallory, and Mila, a role that remains the deepest foundation of her identity and purpose.

In 2016, Brooke’s world was shattered when her son, Logan, was killed by a distracted driver. In the aftermath of this unimaginable loss, she found herself navigating a reality few people understand—a reality filled with profound grief, isolation, and a culture that often avoids these dark, uncomfortable truths while providing little support for healing.

That silence became the catalyst for her mission.

Brooke created the Trauma Uncensored Podcast to offer what she, herself, needed most: A space where people could speak openly and honestly about their experiences without judgment, timelines, or expectation. Through deeply personal storytelling and candid conversations, she shares her own experience while amplifying the voices of survivors, mental health professionals, and others whose lives have been permanently altered. Her work is grounded not in theory, but in lived experience, offering listeners validation, connection, and the reminder that they are not alone.

Brooke’s approach is compassionate, direct, and deeply human. She is committed to breaking stigma, challenging cultural discomfort around trauma, grief, loss, and mental health, all while redefining healing as a personal, non-linear process. She believes trauma permanently changes us—but it does not have to define the limits of our lives.

Today, Brooke is not only a podcast host, but also a speaker, advocate, and trusted voice for those navigating life. Through her platform and advocacy, she continues to honor Logan’s story while helping others find language for their pain, permission for their grief, and the possibility of meaning, purpose, and even joy.

Amy Holland

PODCAST COORDINATOR

Amy Holland connected with Brooke at the very beginning of Trauma Uncensored’s creation. After hearing the first episode, she felt compelled to reach out—sparking a meaningful friendship and a deep connection to the show’s mission. After losing her mother and beloved dog within ten days, Amy navigated grief, depression, and resentment.

Through Brooke’s story and the voices of the guests, she found light, connection, and a reminder that she wasn’t alone. She is honored to serve as podcast coordinator, supporting a space where honest stories help others feel seen.
